Artist Profile - 牛志曄 NIU Zhiye
NIU Zhiye (b. 1972) was born in Beijing, China. A member of Beijing Artists Association, a professional painter. His artworks mainly are inspired by the traditional buildings and outskirts of Beijing, as well as the water towns in Southern China. His art style is fresh and natural, peaceful and quiet, full of the savour of the wilds. The structure of his artworks like a dream tend to lead people’s imagination extend to some faraway unknown places, calming down the inner noise and purifying the soul. He is good at applying the bright colours to enhance the visual impact, but the detailed brush and contrast of colours generate a retro and nostalgic peace and quietness. His artworks used to win many awards in the national art competition, be exhibited in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Wan Fung Art Gallery in Beijing, and be collected by many institutions and private collectors from China and overseas. The series of 「Red Wall」「Red Door」are well received by the collectors because of their vivid characteristics of Beijing and the profound culture of China. Especially several artworks from the 「Red Wall」series used to be collected by three embassies (Australian, Canadian, and German) in Beijing. The artwork「The Delight of Winter」from the same series was selected into Ink Global 2021.
牛志曄，1972年出生在北京，現為北京美術家協會會員、職業畫家。牛志曄作品主要選材於北京傳統建築、京郊鄉村小景和江南水鄉。繪畫風格清新自然，恬淡寧靜，充滿了野趣。悄然無息靜靜的畫面如夢幻般意境悠遠，使心靈得以超脫淨化，毫無浮躁之感。他長於用鮮明的顏色使作品充滿視覺感染力，但對細節的細緻勾勒與色彩間的巧妙搭襯卻始終使得畫面呈現一種富有歷史感的沈靜。其作品多次在國內書畫與美術大賽中獲獎，曾在香港，新加坡，日本，北京雲峰多次舉辦個人畫展，亦被國內多家機構及海內外私人藏家收藏。其中「紅牆」「紅門」兩個系列，因其帶有極為鮮明的京城特色與中國文化內涵而受到藏家廣泛歡迎。其中三幅「紅牆」系列作品更被三間駐華使館（澳大利亞、加拿大、德國）收藏。亦憑「紅牆」系列之《冬趣圖》入圍2021年全球水墨畫大獎。
