beLonging Series Description:

BeLonging is the one thing we all have in common. The desire and need to BeLong is in each one of us. Jennifer Tan's BeLonging series evokes that need as we are sense the serenity that captures the tranquility of our hearts when we have finally found that place. As we are drawn in by the distinct style using minimalist and thoughtfully presented techniques, the land, sea and sky are shown using powerful pastel colours.

Yet do we BeLong or are we merely longing to BeLong?

The reflective layer at the bottom of each piece depicts our need to stop and listen to the beat of our inner heart. Are we really at peace with where we are? Are we really at peace with who we are? The tension between the need to BeLong and reconciling it with our wider world is subtly captured in the series.

We see the ideal, we are inspired by it but are we living it?
